Donald Trump was elected 45th president of the United States

Against all odds and polls in the 70-year-old Donald Trump today won the US presidential election. Next year he will succeed current President Barack Obama into office.

The controversial Republican candidate won a majority of the electors in the various states of the country. Democrat Hillary Clinton was ahead always a favorite with the media and the public. But because Trump in a number of so-called key “swing states” the majority of voters got behind him, he managed to win the elections. In including the swing states Ohio, North Carolina, Florida and Pennsylvania was previously unclear which candidate would get the most votes and won Trump.

After the victory of Trump became known he thanked Hillary Clinton for her struggle and commitment in its two-year campaign. Trump hit a conciliatory tone and called upon the people to come together. He also said he will be the president for all the inhabitants of the country.

The victory of Trump does many pain and is quite unexpected. Many celebrities have previously indicated the country even wanting to leave as Trump comes to power.
